In a first for the series, Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Tag Team invites players to launch themselves into punishing two vs. two combat on PSP system. Take on the deadly Dragon Ball Z legions solo, or team up with friends via Ad Hoc through single and multiplayer gameplay modes including Dragon Walker, Battle 100 and Survival.

That’s not all folks…there’s even ANOTHER story mode that follows the entire arc from the Saiyan to the Buu saga. It’s not like this wasn’t already featured in the 100 other DBZ Tenkaichi and Budokai games, but I guess gamers just can’t get enough of redoing 20 hours worth of combat.

Who would have thought that there are so many ways to make dragons fight for your amusement? One whiff of a brightly coloured plastic sphere and those pugnacious mythical lizards are ready to throw down quicker than a footballer's wife after a crate of Bacardi Breezers.

The latest in a long line of Pokemon-flavoured brawlers, Bakugan: Battle Brawlers is making its way to the DS very soon. In anticipation of this, the Bakugan website has a fancy schmancy online demo of the card-based battler for prospective fans to try out.

It's not an exact mock up of the incoming DS version, but the basic mechanics are exactly the same. There's also a snap mini-game to play, plus some wallpapers and a screensaver. So if you fancy getting your dragon taming skills in shape - and, let's face it, who doesn't? - your next stop should be the Bakugan website.

On PSP this week we're going Japanese demo crazy. Yes, we know what you're thinking: what's new? But this week, we're really losing ourselves in games we could never hope to understand.

UFC Undisputed 2010 on PSP is going to be an interesting case study. Here, you have a portable port of a big budget PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 game. The fighters, modes, and options you'd expect from those versions have been carried over to the PSP, and from a broad perspective the transition went smoothly. Still, this version is four months old and missing the polish that made the console games shine. Plus, in reality, if you were the world's biggest UFC fan, chances are that you've already played this game in one of its other incarnations.

However, I can tell you that this game is good.

Lanseal Academy is a Disneyland boot camp. A 200-foot spire at the centre of the military school's grounds jabs at the clouds, while far below a moonfaced clock tower leans heavy on ancient Doric columns. The building is seasoned with the intricate stone decoration of so many fairytale castles, an unlikely centerpiece for an institute designed for little more than turning tweens into cold-eyed soldiers.

Around the citadel, where your character, Avan, has enrolled in the hope of discovering the mystery behind his brother's recent death in the grounds, tanks roll to and fro, while a timpani of blanks rattles around the buildings. This surrounding layout is more Sandhurst than magical kingdom, containing as it does Drill Grounds, an R&D centre and a Briefing Room, all arranged and spaced with uniform precision. It's in this contrast of exaggerated fantasy with the orderly arrangement of a military barracks that Lanseal Academy, Valkyria Chronicles II's central hub, communicates a great deal about the game it houses.

If Arctic Adventures: Polar's Puzzles seems strangely familiar, that's because it should be. Last December saw the release of Polar Panic, a puzzle action game on XBLA and PSN starring Polar, who used blocks of ice to crush evil loggers and such. Polar Panic also featured a less confrontational Puzzle mode, which has now made its way to PlayStation Minis as Arctic Adventures: Polar's Puzzles.

Instead of some good old fashioned logger-crushing, Arctic Adventures focuses on an arcade interpretation of the slide puzzle. As Polar, you'll push a variety of different types of blocks in a variety of different situations for a variety of reasons.

OK, so it sounds a little boilerplate, but it's more interesting in practice than it sounds. Each puzzle has a different focus and different hazards to get in the way of successfully completing the stage. Some stages will require you to use an explosive crate to set off a chain reaction of explosions, but if you don't set it off in the correct area, you'll fail to free yourself from your enclosed prison to make it to said exit. And if you're not careful, you can also blow yourself up in the process. Other hazards include puzzles that take place on a ship that require you to keep weight on more than a dozen pressure panels; to do so, you'll need to push crates both to activate those panels and trap barrels rolling across the deck on other panels while also sliding finicky ice blocks onto even more panels. Oh, and those rolling barrels? They'll squash you.

The game, Mod Nation Racers, is a kart racer in Sony's "Play. Create. Share." genre of games. Like LittleBigPlanet the focus is user content.

Stylized characters in the style of the vinyl figurines like Mighty Muggs. They're customizable, with mods, or full on outfit changes. The developers showed off a monkey character, as well as a Hellraiser-esque character.

The cars are also customizable, and the developers showed off classic style convertible and a pink dune buggy. You can completely customize your racer and their vehicle. They parts are all predefined, so it's fairly similar to how the creating stuff in LBP works, but you can make them a little more unique since they don't have to be a Sackboy.

Racing is pretty standard kart racing. Jumps, weapons, boosting and drifting. The style is cartoony, but there's a lot of 3D detail in the environments, character, explosions, etc. The racing is pretty fast and frantic.

There's also track creation, done in a nearly realtime way. Players "fly" through the map and the game paints a track behind the car. The thing is really fast, and the developers created a short, simple track in about 10 seconds.

The tracks are fully customizable and things like the track surface can be changed much in the same way they're created, so players can decide how much of what surface to use. Environmental controls are also available. Point and click mountain and water creation that alters the track as the player changes the landscape. If you add a mountain the ground gradually builds up, and the track starts to incline to match. You can add trees, add sheep, and other things by "painting" them onto the ground. Players can also change the sunlight settings. The level of customization on this is deeper than any track creation game we've seen for a kart racer.

The PSP version is a side-scrolling 2.5D platformer that roughly follows the same style as the other versions. It has a different storyline involving freeing the sisters of time, and a different antagonist.

The PSP version features a plot in which the prophecy is written that a member of Prince's royal family will bring end to an evil fire spirit Ahihud's dark reign over hidden mystic land. To ensure his survival, the evil spirit's minions hunt down those with the royal blood. Prince escapes his tower, where he is kept protected by his father, and pursues a mysterious guiding light, which turns out to be Helem, a spirit of time who promises to help the Prince defeat his enemy.
