Yes guys, it has been done. A new enabler for custom firmware to play ISO files and run homebrew on your PSP has been made possible. Introducing ChickHEN (credits to its makers) and CFWenabler. Now those people who are itching to play ISO game backups on their PSP 3000s and with TA-088V3 slim motherboards can play it just like old psp slim and phat CFW users. Here is an easy and brief tutorial on how to use ChickHEN and CFW for those owners of PSP-3000, TA-088v3 owners, and those people who doesn't want to install CFW on their precious PSPs permanently.
What you need:
a PSP-3000 or a PSP Slim with
5.03 firmware(any slim PSP will do even with or without a
TA088v3 motherboard)
(if you don't have the 5.03 firmware you could download the update here)
5.03 update MEDIAFIRE LINKrename 503.pbp to eboot.pbp and paste to ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE
and the run update via the xmb.

PSP to the PC
memory stick duo large enough to hold ISO files and the homebrew
INSTALLING THE CHICKHEN FIRST
download the chickhen installer files here:
CHICKHEN INSTALLER FILES MEDIAFIRE LINKsave it to your computer and extract it anywhere you want to using
winrar (THE FOLDER WILL CONTAIN THESE FILES
warning: icons may not look like the same on your computer)
connect your PSP to the PC via the usb and copy the file named h to the
root of your memory stick
and copy the contents inside the slim folder for psp 3000 and psp slim to
ms0:\PSP\PHOTO
YOU NOW HAVE ChickHEN Files on your PSP.
Now for the
CFWenabler,
download CFW enabler HERE
CFWenabler MEDIAFIRE DOWNLOAD LINKextract CFWenabler and put the folder
CFWenabler to mso:/PSP/GAME
disconnect the PSP from you PC
NOW FOR THE HARDER PARTenable ChickHEN first.
Open up your PSP and go to Photo>Memory Stick
browse to the chickhen folder, open the folder, and wait. (do not press anything)
the PSP will restart and if you're successful, ChickHEN is Enabled.
(a green screen before the restart is the sign)
also, you could verify if chickHEN is enabled by browsing to
SETTINGS>SYTEM SETTINGS>SYSTEM INFORMATION
the system software should say 5.03 ChickHEN R2
(if it isn't repeat browsing to the chickhen folder in
photos)
TO RUN CFWENABLERAfter loading up in
ChickHEN R2
browse to GAME>MEMORY STICK>CFWENABLER3.30
open and agree to flash (once only) and install
the PSP will restart and now you have custom firmware to play your beloved ISOs.
Do not download and play games that you do not own an ISO of.
ISSUES and BUGSAfter a hard reset or if the battery is removed from the PSP will revert back to the official firmware. Just run
ChickHEN again to start
CFWenabler and have a custom firmware again. you do not need to reflash again and the
PSP will restart by itself loading
m33 on its bootup.
SOLUTION for "the game could not be started" ERRORjust open the vshMenu (press select on the XMB)
set the NO umd mode to
Sony Np9660 Credits to the original uploaders and the
ChickHEN and CFWENABLER TEAMS.
